Quiet Services
We organise Quiet Services and hold them in the Zion United Reform Church (Langsett Road North, Oughtibridge) on the first Sunday of each month at 7pm. (except at Easter when it is on Maundy Thursday at 8pm).
Although we ourselves produce the themes and content of the services, they are influenced by the Taizé and Celtic approaches to worship and include those styles of music. They offer a chance to stop and listen and give time for personal reflection and meditation, using a simple theme to draw near to God and spend time in His presence.
A time of prayer and intercession is included and a service normally lasts for 30-40 minutes. The next Quiet Services and themes will be:
Sun 6th May 7pm The House of the Lord
Special notice: For the next Quiet Service (at 7pm on June 3rd) we will be visiting Whirlow Grange for their service of reflection. Please telephone 0114 234 8709 for details, help with lifts, etc.
All at the Zion URC, Oughtibridge, 7pm (unless otherwise stated).
An example service sheet can be accessed here to give you an idea of the style and format of this service.
